hi, slic. norcal rules, but I don't actually live there. Good luck with Harvard, but Princeton is definitely where it's at!

lol sends love
haven't you heard that the pton board is a love fest? Betcha don't find that over at Harvard =)

Ahh I lovvve San Diego, so sunny!

What is up with people changing their minds about Princeton overnight!?! One girl I know had everything layed out for her Princeton application, then on the eve of the day when her forms were due (i.e. Oct 31) she had a "dream" about Princeton, and decided to apply EA Yale. OVERNIGHT!!!
Well, she's a happy Yalie '07er now, but still!

yea that only works when you switch AWAY from princeton; no way can you do the pton app overnight! Ha I think it's a testament to the genius of the pton app; it screens for only the real passionate ones!

how so? it doesn't ask the "Why Princeton" essay - good thing or bad thing?

Because you can't transform Yale or Harvard's two-essay app into pton's 4+ essay app overnight, whereas I can easily use two of my essays for pton for the Yale app (which is exactly what I'm going to do...hehe)

it does ask the why princeton

but that is only for the Bse degree

Poor me

the pton app; it screens for only the real passionate ones!

i ask again: how so?
:p - i like challenging you, just teasing

Because the real passionate ones would have known that they were applying to Princeton early enough to do the app..you can't just make a last minute decision to do so because you wouldn't have enough time..assuming of course that applying to pton at the last minute means ur not passionate (which is what I think anyway)

i think a big reason i decided with harvard over princeton was the fact that i had visited harvard over the summer and REALLY, really liked the people and the professors...i dunno...who knows, i may be a fellow tiger '08er... :)

you mean '09er

oops...thats what i meant

i decided princeton ED over dartmouth ED the night before the apps were due in my school's counseling center (oct 15ish), but i had both apps done so it was really just a matter of checking boxes... and agonizing over making a good choice...

oh + of course you're welcome, slic, here's some <3

which I'm sure you realize now is the best choice you've made?

oh, most definitely

the weekend after i regretted it - i made posts on both boards of dartmouth and pton kids and the princeton kids were so condescending, while the dartmouth kids were bending over to help me... basically re-affirming the ideas cemented by students i know that go to each school. but then i discovered this board and met the coolest people ever that i totally want to spend 4 years with, thus unconvincing me of the inherent arrogant attitudes of all princetonians (basically i encountered some bad seeds)

for some reason the "bad seeds" phrase is striking me as hilarious... and i have a sneaking suspicion that above is all one sentence, ha

oh garc - you are so the Dartmouth type...but Princeton is definitely good!

yeah i think i'd fit in really well at dartmouth, we'll see what happens after my pton thin envelope crosses fingers

were you torn between two schools or was it basically princeton, full steam ahead?

gracilisae - hahaha im following you to dartmouth

it is also my 2nd choice, and i am pretty sure i will get in there, and im pretty sure i will go there.

whoopeeee! only think i didnt like were the frats.

i went through the following "I love X" phases:
Yale (cringe)
UPenn (cringe even more)
Duke (not so bad)

(they're in anachronological order)

but for about 7 months, it's been Pton full steam ahead! (best part is: i don't have a second choice)

ooh i never liked penn....or duke....or yale.
