Princeton Prep

Hello! I'm a freshman just looking to see what I can do to get into Princeton. Many people say it's too early, but I don't think so! I am on an academic scholarship to a Catholic high school, and am in all honors. Currently, my average is a 98 (unweighted). I get a 1.1 curve at the end of the year. I will be taking the Biology SAT II in June, and the Latin SAT II next year. My dad graduated Princeton in '93, so does that improve my chances? I run track every season, and am number 9 in my league. I am involved with the school band. I also ride and show horses, and in my free time volunteer at a therapeutic riding facility. Is there anything that I can do to further my chances of being accepted? I want to be an equine veterinarian, if this helps. Thanks!!

If you go through high school resume-boasting, your essays won’t seem genuine. Please, just get off college confidential and do whatever makes you happy. There’s no way to predict college admissions decisions, and it’d be a waste to spend your time in high school stressing about something you can’t control.

Ok thanks!! Just wondering if you know which extracurriculars I should focus in for a good r

I’d encourage you to focus on what you love. Passion is important and it will show in your essays and resume by the time you are ready to apply.

I risk an online stoning here by saying so ;), but Cornell has an excellent facility and program for veterinary studies from what I understand. My son goes to Princeton but also looked at Cornell (BSE) and it also looked like a great school as well!

Thanks @Cantiger!! I live Cornell’s vet school, and that’s where I’d love to go for grad school.
