Princeton Preview Question

Am I supposed to go alone, or bring a parent? I'm really far away from New Jersey too-I'm from California, so it'll be really far away, all by myself.

Has anyone been contacted about the financial aid for travel? They said they'd include my airfare and ground transportation, but I don't think that includes my parents?

I need some help :) Any would be appreciated.

I am not sure, but I don’t think your parents are included. At least in my case (a different university) it is not.

most of the activities at preview weekends are catered to students. while there are events for parents, most of the events are for prefrosh to get to know the school and its students. also, hotels in princeton are EXPENSIVE.

i came without my parents, and i feel like that was a good decision (i’m from far away too, and so i was scared about getting here by myself, but it’s very easy to get from the airport to campus and they even have students in the airport to tell you how to get here). lots of people do bring their parents, though, so if you want to bring your parents/your parents want to come, you won’t be the only one!

“I’m from California, so it’ll be really far away, all by myself.”

Well, that’s kinda what college is gonna be like, so… deal with it?

Haha I’m just kidding. I love my parents, but when you’re trying to preview college life, you really should be on your own.

Don’t bring your parents.

Crackberry is correct you don’t bring your parents. You usually come here and reside with a current student, follow them around to class or visit some classes in the fields you might major in. You can find out more here: [Welcome -*Princeton Preview Hosting](http://www.princeton.edu/hosting/) and if you can’t make one of those but would like to visit our campus you can check out tours here [Orange Key Tour Service](http://webscript.princeton.edu/~oktour/)

That doesn’t include your parent. Don’t worry about the distance. It doesn’t matter if you’re from California or New Jersey, either way you won’t be seeing your parents a lot when you are in college. You’ll have fun. You will mostly be hanging with the prefrosh while the parents do a few activities but have most of the day to themselves. Also, going by yourself if great because you don’t have to worry about what your parents are doing or if they will disapprove of an event that you want to go to.
