I really can’t find this anywhere, but what exactly am I supposed to bring? I’ve been to other college overnight stays and they ask me to bring a sleeping bag, towel, tooth paste, etc, but I’m not sure what would already be provided at Princeton’s stay. Can someone give me a in depth response? First time traveling alone so I don’t want to forget anything
Also I’m traveling through the Princeton travel agent program (traveling for free because I’m low-income). They sent me a ticket with the itinerary for the flight, do I just print this out and bring it to the airport? (first flying myself, I don’t know anything :P)
I think they plan to contact the students within the next few days with information about what to bring - eg, sleeping bag, etc. Check the admitted students website.
The itinerary is fine, but you will need ID -eg, driver’s license, state ID or passport.
I saw a list on the admitted students webpage. Very brief. Basically said bring a sleeping bag and pillow, casual clothes, comfortable walking shoes, phone charger and money. Small rolling carry on bag or backpack.
You will not need to bring too much! In terms of air travel, good for you for jumping in and giving it a try! Yes, print out your itinerary and ticket and bring them with government photo ID to the airport. Once you are at the counter for your airline, just ask for directions - the airline personnel will help you through it. Follow the TSA directions for what you are allowed to carry on in terms of liquids https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/liquids-rule. And wear socks to the airport since you will need to remove your shoes to go through the security check point! Bring gum for air pressure changes in takeoffs/landing. And enjoy the experience!!!
