Is there a significant advantage in applying on Dec 15th instead of Jan 1st? I feel like I'll have more time to tweak my common app essay and Princeton supplements if I wait for the break, but I could get it all done by Dec 15 if it would really help my chances.

Well i e-maild them and they said there’s no advantage/dis-advantage either way, but ofc they would say that so I’m not sure myself either.

It is not a priority deadline. It is a suggested date so that Princeton does not get inundated with applications on the last day. You should do your best to honor their request, however if you find yourself unable to do that it will not count against you. It does not increase your chances to apply by December 15th.

This is what I heard from GC: if you submit your app much earlier before deadline (like Princeton’s suggested date 12/15), since ED/EA round is end, the Adcom can start reviewing your file and because there are less apps in, your file may get more time for review. That’s a good thing.
However, if you are not ready, don’t rush. You should make sure your essays and everything in the app is your best work before you submit.
What GC told me is applied to all the schools, not just Princeton.
