Princeton RD 2020 thread

Yeah I BSed that part. I couldn’t write my true favorite word on a college app

Mine is Syzygy

I saw somewhere that they dont even look at that section of your application

I wrote behemoth as my favorite word
Favorite movie quote was something stupid from Napoleon Dynamite
Favorite website was a link to the Ooer subreddit
I thought it was funny at the time but I’m afraid they won’t take my app seriously lol

Yeah I did a funny quote. What do they want? A bunch of Mark Twain quotes? Confucius? That’s boring. If that’s what they look for then I don’t really want to go to Princeton.

In retrospect, my responses were pretty boring; my book quote was from Dorian Gray, my source of inspo was “commencement addresses on YouTube,” and my favorite word was a German/music one (super unique to me and paranoid that someone’s going to find me on here, so not going to say it), but they were honestly my favorite quotes/sources of inspiration/words. Had I put down funny ones, my app wouldn’t have been 100% me.

“What did you do over the summer?”

“I hibernated like a bear.”

update: It does turn out I still haven’t sent in my 2015 tax documents yet (oops?) Those still aren’t complete though so it’ll be a few days until I can settle that. I’ll see how it all turns out on the 31st :S

@ronniecat I’m sending mine in right now; I called to make sure that it’s okay.

Okay, wait: for IDOC, which parts of the Tax Return do I send? Just the 1040? The schedules too?

@schroscat thanks for letting me know, I know i sent in the other documents on time but needed to take care of that other detail. I’m not sure how to answer your question right now but I can check ??
(also hello fellow cat person)

@ronniecat Thanks! I’m not sure if I need to send the ENTIRE tax return…or only like 3 pages. (Hello fellow cat person)

Kudos to you guys for doing it yourselves

@MijoChbulkan I filled out the entire CSS, the FASFA, and now this. I am DONE WITH TAX RETURNS.

@schroscat I get where you are coming from. I did the same. If this is what adulthood is like, I am not too thrilled.

My parents filled all that out. I don’t know anything about my family’s income/taxes nor do I know how to do it. lol

I’m impressed

@APersonsHistory I’m used to being the adult in my family, ahah. My mom’s English pretty much sucks, so I’ve been doing all the calls and filing since I was like…8.

@MijoChbulkan Lucky you!! Dear Lord, this stuff gets me depressed.

@schroscat that’s cool though! like you are a functional person. Where are your parents from?

@MijoChbulkan Turkey! And, yeah, I am pretty stellar at handling most bill-related issues, if I do say so myself.

@schroscat yooo i know what you mean about filling out all these forms being overwhelming for sure as well as having one parent speak another language.
The email I got today says I should fax it to them but I don’t even know how to use a fax machine if there’s even one in my house…but I also saw somewhere else I could email it back to them. Do they really have a preference?
