Princeton RD 2020 thread

@Kyuutoryuu am i crazy or does this name have something to do with Kill La Kill

Still haven’t been contacted by an interviewer :frowning:

@glasshours same

QuestBridge applicants as well.

@skieurope - Yes that is correct! Thanks for the reminder.

Do not worry. My son had a 2290 Superscore. He was unhooked, private school white male with GPA of 3.87. He wrote some great essays and showed true passion. Princeton seems to care deeply about authenticity.

I was supposed to retake subject tests today because my current scores are awful, but my test got cancelled…
I guess my schools will have to use my current scores, which haven’t even broken 700 :frowning:
This was a make or break thing for me, as my subject tests were the main weakness in my application. Now all of my reach schools are out of reach

@anon9362 I think you are way overestimating the weight of subject test in the HOLISTIC REVIEW. Yes, it’s definitely one of the indicators they refence but by all means it’s not the top one or a make of break factor unless there are other significant weak areas in your application.

Keep your focus on finding your holistic match and don’t be consumed by a particular factor outside of your control or the fact that your holistic match might be the one you did not previously anticipated as top choice.

Bottom line relax and remember success is mostly driven by YOU and not the academic institution.

I agree with @IfnousWHO. The subject tests aren’t as important as many of the other criteria. I know someone who was accepted into a top LAC this year during the ED round with subject test scores of 550 and 600 (everything else was very strong) Why don’t you write to admissions and tell them that you were trying to improve your test scores, but they got cancelled? Then they will at least know you tried.

thanks guys. It says on their website that pton will accept the scores as soon as they come in, but I kind of doubt that considering it will be mid march by the time they get my scores… I’m going to call on Monday

Came off as way too nervous in my interview I think! I don’t know why I was so nervous this time.

I tried to not sound rehearsed but in the end I think I just came off as inarticulate and under-prepared. I think I was nice and courteous and I think she liked me, but I don’t know if I was impressive.

Hopefully the interview doesn’t count for too much…

still nothing about an interview…

Same @teenagecrime

My interview went super well, so hopefully it’ll help me a lot.

To those sweating a lack of an interview, you can stop sweating. They mean next to nothing in the admission process. Schools cannot interview all applicants, so counting them would not be fair. Pton and other top tier schools bend over backwards to be fair. They are used as a means to keep alumni engaged and provide applicants an opportunity to learn first hand about the school (not everyone can visit). Good luck!

I hope you’re right!

@NedMart is correct.

Hey everybody, I’m a Princeton Class of 2020 SCEA Admit. I’ve been skimming through this thread and reading some of your comments and I know what you all are going through right now. I’m by no means an authority on the college admissions process, but if any of you have any concerns or questions that you would like answered, feel free to hit me up here or in a personal message. Good luck to all of you - I hope to see many of you in the fall.

I am a current student at Princeton. Feel free to shoot me any questions about academic life, the social scene, extra curriculars, the food, etc :slight_smile:

Hello! I took the January SAT test in physics but I’m not sure whether I should report it or not but I have to decide soon because if I send it after scores are out it will definitely not reach in time. My previous score was 750 and I’m not sure that I got higher this time. Would submitting a lower score hurt my chances?
