Princeton Review Classes

My daughter is currently a sophomore and we received a brochure in the mail about the Princeton Review Prep Course. My daughter has ADD and is shy. I am hesistant in signing her up for this as I don't personally know of anyone that has gone through their program. I don't know if we would be better off going through the books or having a private tutor.

I took the Princeton Review Classroom course (twice, in fact, because its free the 2nd time around). The teacher and kids are nice and pretty normal. Your daughter should have no problem fitting in and being comfortable.

I would advise your daughter to take a practice test. If she score around a 1800, don’t take the Classroom course. The class itself doesn’t really give good helpful tips for a student who is scoring more than a 1900. It does help a 1500-scoring kid go up to a 1700+, however.

Additionally, if your daughter can study on her own with minimal distractions, then there’s no point to the course. I am, sort of, glad that I took the course because it made me sit down and take practice tests and do study vocab, learn grammar rules, etc.

Books are your #1 tool to do well on the SAT. Private tutors would be #2. PR Classroom course is #3.

^ I disagree. Before taking the princeton review class i scored a 1950 on the diagnostic test. after, i got a 2200 on the real SAT. it is extremely helpful and they not only teach you how the skills to beat the test, but also invaluable shortcuts. I highly encourage you to enroll your daughter in a princeton review sat prep course!

I would highly recommend taking a Princeton review class. Keep in mind that I had no idea what I was doing, but I scored a 1480 on the first diagnostic test. That was a real blunder because people have always told me that an SAT score reflects your intelligence. I felt that I was a stupid person after getting that score. However, after going through the class, my scores went up 500+ points, I’m now scoring 2000+ on SAT practice tests. Take the class, it will help you to realize your full potential and score better on the SAT.
