Princeton Review I hate you

Hi, ive been using the 11 practice tests for the sat 2012 edition of the princeton review and i have found countless errors in the answer key and even in problems where numbers should be negative or where the answer is not even a multiple choice option. Anyone else experience this? Also the scoring is so crazy i dont get it at all. It claims that i got one score in writing but when i compare the # i got correct and# wrong using the college boards scoring sheet, was 50 points off. Along with math being 10 points off and reading 30. I hate this book so much and am definitely in search of a different book. I used the Blue books test last summer but i probably forgot all about those tests and what they were like. Think i should buy the book again for the practice tests? (money doesnt matter?) Please anyone comment on this because this book is stressing me out like crazy.

I don’t understand why people continue to use PR when there are 20+ full exams made by the collegeboard out there for sale.

The book may have answer errors, but not many. Also, the scoring guidelines are not wrong since scoring is based on the scores of other people. The scoring guideline in the PR book are based on a hypothetical sample since none of the tests have actually been administered.

Thank goodness I got the blue book. I have the PR book for AP calculus though…I hope all ends well.

The last test i took was missing an x in an equation making it impossible to solve and another had 3 instead of -3 … 2 questions can make a difference but anyway thank you. Do you guys think i should go get a blue book off amazon for the tests? I took them all a while ago but nothing serious just over the summer when i was bored. This time i would actually be trying to learn from the tests and etc. thanks

I don’t often find mistakes in PR, but I disagree with some of their test taking strategies.

If you spot a significant mistake, make sure you are 100% correct. Perhaps find other people who can second you. Then you can write a complaint to PR.

I have problems with the CR questions because a lot of the time, they’re not formatted the same as those on the SAT. When the SAT CR questions give you specific line numbers, PR gives you a general area. It’s not a big issue, but it just throws me off.
And the answers for PR’s CR. Sometimes I don’t even understand how they got there. I’ve got such a large gap between my lowest CR scores from the Blue Book and from PR.

I’ve done some PR CR, and there are definitely times where the correct answer to the question is not fully logically supported by the passage as it should be.
