UCF moved up nine spots from its ranking on Kiplinger's 2008 list.

The University of Central Florida provides one of the best values in the country for students education dollars, according to well-known national publications.

UCF was listed among the top 50 public universities in The Princeton Reviews 100 Best Value Colleges for 2009, published Jan. 8 in USA Today.

When it comes to academics, students find themselves driven to excel -- thanks to a career-driven yet laid-back environment that places an emphasis on the future without forgoing the fun, the report said about UCF.

UCF also maintains strong ties to the booming community to provide hands-on experience to undergraduates in several majors, the Princeton Review said.

The Princeton Review made its selections based on surveys of administrators and students at more than 650 public and private universities and colleges. The selection criteria covered more than 30 factors, including academics, costs of attendance and availability of financial aid.

UCF is also listed in the top 50 best value universities in the country for 2009 by Kiplingers Personal Finance magazine.

UCF was recently named No. 42 on Kiplingers 100-school list of U.S. public colleges and universities. The listing is available on the magazines Web site. UCF advanced nine spots from its No. 51 ranking in 2008 on the annual list, which combines outstanding economic value with exceptional education.

Kiplingers develops its college rankings using nationwide data that includes measures of academic quality -- such as SAT or ACT scores and graduation rates -- and an affordable price tag, including tuition and financial aid.

Additionally, U.S. News & World Reports Americas Best Colleges guide last year ranked UCF No. 9 among national universities in the "Great Schools, Great Prices" category for students who graduate with the least amount of debt. UCF also ranked seventh in the new "Up-and-Coming" category for national universities that are "tops for innovation."
