Has anyone had any experience with hiring a private tutor from The Princeton Review?

If so, was it worthwhile? Was it awkward having a stranger come to your house for two hours at a time? My parents think it would be a good idea, but it's incredibly expensive, and I had a rather bad experience with a large group PR class (I raised my PSAT score from a 219 to 221 on the beginning vs. end practice tests...yay!).

I just took a practice ACT and got a 33, with science as my lowest score (30). I'd like a 35 composite, if possible, but do you think a tutor could help? Or, when it comes down to a handful of questions like this, would I be better off just studying myself?
