Is it true that the princeton review's 200 point guarantee is based on their diagnostic tests?
For example, I take one of their practice tests at the beginning of the course and then I take another of their practice tests at the end of the course and they base my improvement on these diagnostic tests? They dont base my improvement on the real official SAT?

wait it's based on a final diagnostic test?!!!

thats what I'd like to know...

On thier site, in tiny little print it says:
" * The 200-point score improvement guarantee applies to students preparing for the New SAT with Total Prep Classroom Course, our 18-hour New SAT tutoring package, Princeton Review Online or Princeton Review LiveOnline. Score improvement is determined using The Princeton Review diagnostic. "

This is a bit ambiguous, so im not sure how their 200 point gaurantee works.
Can anyone explain how they base your improvement on what?

Yes, it is based on each person's INDIVIDUAL diagnostic test.

I went to one over the summer though, and I can vouch that it does work well, I believe I gained around 250 points... as long as you put good effort into it and be diligent with the homework and stuff, u'll see visible improvements

That's my opinion, anyway.

what if you flunked that final test on purpsoe?

... having not done that, i cannot tell you the answer... but that is a dumb thing to do, unless ur in ur freshmen year... but even then i wouldn't recommend such a course of action

i find this very interesting, not that I would ever consider such a course. Too much money :)

if not, just buy a SAT prep book (heck, maybe even try to order the princetonreview one) and study it like a bible, and take LOTSA tests

well that's the plan! I'm taking the ACT as well. :p

I took a summer course with Princeton Review, so I know how this works. Before you take the course, they give you a diagnostic test, and they guarantee that you will score at least 200 points higher on your actual SAT. I got a 1900 on the diagonostic test I took with Princeton Review, so according to their policy, I should get a 2100 on the ACTUAL SAT or I have the right to enroll in their class again. You can't get your money back, though.

If you're wondering whether the class is worth it, my vote is yes. You could review on your own with prep books if you're really motivated, but personally I needed someone else to motivate me to review. I know wouldn't get the same results on my own.
