Asian Female
Income: $200,000 (but it’s complicated)

I’m really worried that I’ll just be “another Asian” applying into the lottery of Ivies. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

President of 8 clubs?? Damn… Stats, GPA, are definitely okay, but ECs and awards do seem a little scattered. I would focus on your involvements in writing/debating/language if I were you. But other than that, I feel like you are definitely an above average applicant! Best of luck!

@academicgirl What is your intended major? Princeton likes to see passion.

This list of accomplishments is impressive. I agree that you’d need to show your passion for something on your application to separate yourself from the pack, but from a purely statistical level you’ve got a fantastic head start.

If the “International Oxbridge Merit Scholarship” is a scholarship from Oxbridge Programs I would drop it as an award.

Oxbridge Programs is a for-profit summer camp that has no association with either Oxford or Cambridge beyond renting space from them. Princeton has a very good relationship with Oxford and will know full well that the program has no actual link to the universities. You have much, much better awards.

(ps, if your National Immersion scholarship is similar, ditch it also. If you can’t bear to let it go, put it in parentheses next to the activity in your Common App (summer 20xx: (name of course], Oxbridge Programs (merit scholarship recipient).
