Princeton seeks applicants for free journalism program

"High school juniors can apply for an all-expenses-paid journalism and college preparation program held at Princeton University, Aug. 3 - 13.

The Princeton Summer Journalism Program is open to high school juniors from low-income backgrounds. Students learn reporting skills from celebrated journalists, report and write their own newspaper, and are paired with a counselor who oversees their college admissions process during their senior year. Since its inception, the majority of PSJP alumni have been accepted to and attended highly selective colleges/universities and Ivy League schools.

To qualify, applicants must be high school juniors living in the United States with an unweighted GPA of 3.5-4.0, who have an interest in journalism. The custodial parents’ or guardians’ combined income, including child support received, must not exceed $45,000 annually.

All program costs, including meals, housing, and transportation to and from campus, are covered by the program.

Applications are due March 23 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. For more information and to apply, visit princeton.edu/sjp. Email sjp@princeton.edu for additional questions."
