Princeton-- starting at the basics

Hey all,

Here's the story: someone recently recommended that I check out Princeton as a potential college option. Although I had been formerly investigating other Ivy options such as Brown and Yale, I had never thought, for whatever reason, to even think to investigate Princeton. I guess I had always just thought of it as such a preppy (and thus unappealing) institution.

Thus, I know near to nothing about Princeton, and I was wondering whether you guys could fill me in- starting at the basics, like the size and such.

Some other issues I'd be interested to learn about include: the most popular majors, the geographical diversity, and *** the strength of their music (voice) department along with music performance opportunities and any pertinent affiliations (this one is really, really important!!!!)***

Just add anything you guys think is important to understanding Princeton and what it's all about. Thanks so much!

(And yes, I could look on the website, but then I'd have to weed through all the pretentious descriptions, and I think that you guys can probably provide a much more exhaustive and accurate portrayal of Princeton as a whole.

Thanks again.

anyone? please?

If you can't be bothered to research easily accessible facts on your own, and instead expect others to do so for you, I'm not sure Princeton is the right place for you.

Ouch. But he has a point.

GR, I do think that’s a little harsh.

On the other hand, Daydreamer, your request is really much too broad to elicit a meaningful response. The posts on this board are filled with the kind of information you’re seeking. You will also find virtually all your questions answered on Princeton’s new admissions website which you can view here:

Good luck in your research and if you have specific questions, especially those that can best be answered by current and former students based on their experiences, I’m sure you’ll find many readers happy to respond.
