Princeton Summer Essay! CONFUSED.

PROMPT:Please tell us how you have spent the last two summers (or vacations between school years), including any jobs you have held, if not already detailed on the Common Application.

Is this supposed to be a very direct detailed description of all the things you did or is it also supposed to include like an analysis part of what you learned from each thing kinda deal? And are trivial things like hanging out with friends, etc okay to mention? lol

And one of my other Princeton supp essays, the vision one, is about a community service project i did during one of the summers but in this case the impact of more of a specific moment, so would it seem too repetitive to talk about this project like twice in both my princeton supps, although the summer one would be a more general one i guess (if we dont have to talk about what we learned)?

Any comments greatly appreciated!!!! Thanksss!! :)

While you’re safe in either essay format or plain response, I think Princeton is looking for a straightforward description of what you did.

As far as your other question, my view is that admissions officers have hundreds and thousands of applications to review, so I don’t see it as very wise to make them read a very similar thing twice. Is there anything else you have thought about writing?

Good luck with the essays!

thanks for the advice! I will reconsider a new topic!
