Princeton University 2024 RD

I didn’t see a thread for this on here yet, and I figured we should all stress together. Good luck everyone!

Just had my interview today (I think it went well?) fingers crossed. No matter what the decision is gonna be, I already know I will cry so much on ivy day-

fleeingdays,
Tears of joy for acceptance(s) on Ivy day! Enjoy your senior year!

I have been watching the boards and seeing how people are being contacted about interviews. With DD20 being in Prep School in New England I was wondering if she would be contacted. I just contacted her and she told me that an alum contacted her via email and will be coming to her campus to interview her this week.

Good luck all!

Hi
My son had not gotten an interview from Princeton?
Is it good to approach them for an interview?
Or does it mean they are not considering his application?
Thanks

My daughter just received invitation to sigh up for an interview this past Friday. 30 time slots were open, 6 with each of 5 different interviewers, at a local school on Saturday, Feb 8 in the Chicago suburbs.

I had my interview yesterday. I think it went well…? I’d love to get in

@VikingDad15
Thank you for the info

Stressed but hopeful! My interview went really well (though I’m honestly not sure how much they help) so now it’s just waiting for 3/26!

Lots of waiting… :I

Hi
My son was contacted for an interview.
Thanks

I got contacted for an interview and scheduled it on Friday. Does everyone get an interview or does an interview mean that they are seriously considering us?

@aarybalkar When we visited Princeton last summer, they spoke with great pride regarding their strong alumni participation in interviews and that they attempted to interview each applicant. Look at it as a great way to learn more about the school, an extra chance to emphasize your interest and goals, and valuable practice for the future.

As is the case with other schools that interview applicants, getting contacted for an interview is not an indication of increased chances.

DS got contacted right after winter break, less than three weeks after applying. There is pretty much no way they would have pre-judged his application during that time.

Daughter had her interview today. Very typical. The only one out of 5 Ivy’s that has not reached out for an interview is Yale. Also nothing from MIT. Now we wait!

Hello there, best of luck to everyone! International Student here, got deferred SCEA.

Hi guys! How heavily are Princeton interviews considered by admissions officers for international students?

Hi @HYPSM2024
I have been told again (and again), that for Princeton, having or not having an interview, or how the interview has gone, has little or no bearing on a US applicant’s chance of being admitted to Princeton.

I think I agree with that. 2 years ago my older son had a great Princeton interview (he applied SCEA), but was deferred, and ultimately rejected.
