Princeton University Class of 2016 SCEA Thread

I don’t think that NMSF is probably that important. Admissions officers understand that it is just a snapshot of how a student performed on a specific day and that many students are simply not prepared for the PSATs.

I think that the required standardized test scores (whether SAT or ACT) are probably much more important from an admissions standpoint.

But it’s also all about standing out from your region, and for applicant heavy states like NJ, NY, MA, they have their own regional admissions officers for that state specifically, so wouldn’t any state honor, especially one academic related, but at least somewhat helpful? Especially if only one or two people got it from your school.

I think it’s not THAT big of a deal. I, along with about 10 other people from my school got it, but there are smarter and more wholesome applicants who didn’t get it, and plus, adcoms know that it’s in your sophomore year, you’re usually not as prepared, ect.

All that being said, I think it’s still helpful. Can’t hurt ;)

Edit: Oh and I’m from the South, so it was a lot easier to get.

Ah alright. I guess it should be fine then.

I think that schools like Princeton get a ton of applicants who are NMSFs. I have no specific knowledge on this issue and while it’s obviously better to be a NMSF than not, I can’t imagine that it weighs heavily in the decision process (but that’s just my opinion, decillion and I certainly could be wrong).

one week!!! this is a highly unintelligent post and i’m sorry for that but i can’t even stand the nerves anymore!!! anyone else feeling the same way???

Amen, girl. I don’t know about everybody else, but the Cornell ED kids from my school are making me anxious for a decision.

right??? one of my friends just got into cornell-another to bucknell-i actually sat in my study hall and pressed refresh on my email for 40 minutes straight, somehow convinced that would make the email come…ohh college what are you doing to us?

It’s just nerve wracking that they’ve been arguing about us this entire week…

arguing???

Haha, he just means for deciding applications. I’d like to think that somewhere out there, one of the admissions officers has read my application, and is rooting for this old-fashioned Southern boy :-)

SIGGGGGGGGHHHHHHhhhhhh

How are we going to find out the result next week?

I think you log into your application tracker on the admissions website to find out. Not sure if they send an email as well

for some reason I keep thinking that MAYBE Princeton admissions will release decisions at the same time as Penn today. I know it won’t happen but I am just so anxious for them to tell us already!

Yeah, I thought since Dartmouth also released decisions today that maybe it would happen…but nope. I can’t take this much longer haha.

Penn results are making me so much more nervous…

@decillion going to read the penn decision thread… hoping it doesn’t crush my hopes

“Applicants will be able to view their decisions beginning at 4 p.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 15.”

This just came out on the Princeton Application tracker. Well ****.

Ouch. A little further away than I had hoped haha, but at least we have a definite time and date! where exactly did you find that? I can’t find it on the website.
