Does anyone know if they send out an email with your decision result, or do you have to check it online? If so, how do you check online, just go to the Application Tracker?

Haha I’d like to think that maybe we don’t have as many posts because we are all busy doing amazing things ;)

I put math/physics as my possible majors

@sunshine02 I believe you need to log in to your application tracker for the results.

Does anyone want to predict the acceptance rate? I saw this in the Harvard SCEA thread. They suggested that it would perhaps be around 18% and that they would accept around 750 during the early round.

However, Stanford’s early acceptance rate was 12.8%. What would Princeton’s be? Anyone want to predict while we’re anxiously waiting? :D

Can’t tell whether this is sarcastic, since Princeton never had SCEA, or you really meant ED…

@decillion Alumother’s just teasing us so that we start to talk more ;)

Well, Stanford admitted 755 students out of 5,880, which is slightly better than what it did last year, which was 754 out of 5,929… (Like barely +0.1%)

Last year, Yale admitted 761 out of 5,257. (14.5% acceptance rate)

The last time Harvard had EA, it admitted 875 out of 4,008 (21.8% acceptance rate)

Harvard’s expected class size is ~1,655, while Yale’s is ~1,310. Princeton’s is ~1300 as well. So I think it would be more reasonable to apply Yale numbers to Princeton numbers, since class sizes are about the same. That being said, the last time Yale had SCEA with numbers around 3,594… it admitted 709 students, with an expected class enrollment of 1,340. However, it should also be taken into account that they only accepted 1,860 applications overall, so the number 709 may vary slightly.

So I guess my ballpark estimates for Princeton SCEA statistics is that out of the 3,547 applying, at least 675 students will be admitted with no more than 750 (unless the aspect of protecting yield really makes that much of a difference for Princeton, which I don’t think it does… but I may be proven wrong).

If you want my random, instinctual guess for the number of SCEA admits, I’d say 723.

Hehe. Yes, I am just teasing, also am old, so am forgetful:). Talk more. Good luck to all. If you are even applying you must be fantastic students.

Thank you Alumother!

Got any proof for this special 2% number?

I heard from a reliable source that decisions were made on December 1st, so I’m guessing that at least part of the wait has to do with financial aid offers. 2% acceptance rate for Asians? That’s ridiculously low…

Um… I have firsthand information from the admissions office that they did not start committee until around last Monday (December 5th)… so I don’t know what “reliable” information you’re getting. Also, there is not a 2% acceptance rate for Asians.

“Most” Asians don’t have those stats. More Asian students have those stats than say other ethnic groups, but it’s wrong to say almost every single Asian applicant meets those criteria… because they don’t. Princeton doesn’t have a 15% “Asian quota.” If you’re going to spew bullscheisse, at least pick a right number because currently Asians make up 18.6% of the Class of 2015.

Jonjonjonjon got that 2% because he’s mad that people don’t believe in his mediocre stats.

@above
There aren’t that many asians at my school, but I do know that admission is more difficult for them. Everyone knows that. Next time, though, find a different place to pull a number from than your rear end.

So you’re saying you’re going to have to make an impression with your application that goes beyond stats and numbers? Wow, tough life.

Yeah your academics are great, so why the heck are you so caught up over numbers in the admissions process?

I think everyone is well aware of that.

Doing college apps… :’(

Right now it’s pretty difficult to pass the time. I think our best bet is to hack the Princeton application tracker, find all of our admissions decisions, and post them to CC. :)

reading you

is it definite that we will not hear before Thursday. Stanford had said the 15th as well, but notices went out on Friday. Wishful/stressful thinking, but just wondering…

Going on CC is how I pass the time…
