Deferred Congratulation to all accepted.

rejected. Congrats accepted people, good luck deferred people. To other rejected people, this stinks. I hope you feel better than I do.

if 2000 got deferred and 700 got accepted, so does that mean only 1500 got rejected?
what percentage of deferred applicants generally get accepted in regular action?

Deferred. So basically, I am extra security for Princeton in case a better applicant doesnāt come along in the regular pool. **** that. Iām done.

Congrats to those accepted-- Iām sure you all deserve it.

Abscalcā¦3500 applicants with 2,000 defer and 700 accept means 800 rejects, not 1500.

Good luck to deferred people. Hope to see some of you in Preview Day.

Do we stand a shot if we were deferred? Anything worth doing to increase our chances?

Out of curiosityā¦ Did everyone who got the E-Mail at 5:38 get deferred? Maybe there was a correlation.

waitā¦thatās HECKA ppl who got deferred. I got deferred too. but considering we have to get compared to the regular pool. our chances are withering away! :ā(

Iām just guessing that Princeton would be like Harvard this year and defer the vast majority of its applicants

I got it at 5:36 and was deferred, so I doubt it.

Deferred. Hoping my mid year grades will help a bit. Generally frustrated.

But congrats to those accepted.

My son was admittedā¦best of luck to each of you.

Accepted!!! Totally surreal experience, I have no idea why I got accepted.
@Kameronsmith: I didnāt get any emails at allā¦

Admitted!!!So excited. Definitely going to enroll.

Deferred. Congrats to those who got accepted xD.

But i honestly donāt know what to do now to improve my chance to get in (iām from the other side of the world and my school is already overā¦). I should probbly continue my other applications Good luck to everyone who got deferred ^^

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using CC App

So, is anyone planning to call them up to find out why they might have been deferred?

I canāt call but I may write in an emailā¦

Are there any statistics on how many got rejected and deferred? Or is everyone automatically deferred?

I am concerned about Princeton, 21.1%, and Harvardās, 18%, high SCEA acceptance rate this year. They are much higher than Yaleās 15% and Stanfordās 13%. Now some people feel that Princeton and Harvard are less selective than Yale and Stanford. Besides, these high early numbers make RD acceptance even harder and will make some RD applicants thinking twice about applying to Harvard and Princeton.

Anyboy has any comments and speculations on why Princeton and Harvard early acceptance rates are so high compared to Yale, Stanford, and MIT?

Numbers should be taken for face value. As evidenced by the results, numbers donāt guarantee anything in admissions. What is guaranteed, however, by Harvard and Princeton, is a world class education. So quit grubbing about selectivity. And for those of you that legitimately care about this dumb numbers game, Princeton and Harvard have been tied for first or ranked 1,2 for literally the last ten years or soā¦ so I wouldnāt exactly say a slightly higher SCEA admit rate would be anything indicative of a lack of prestige or competitiveness in the admissions game.
