Princeton University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

Any intended ORFE majors?

Intended majors don’t matter that much, right?

@university2022 yea they dont matter that much. engineering vs non-engineering matters tho

Yes ! Do you have research experience? Where are you from?

@roboticsismylife I meant to tag you. Yes ORFE. Where are you from ? What do you want to study ?

i wish Princeton would just release the date already…

My D only applied ED to Princeton but one of her friends applied early to Harvard and another to Cornell. I was just relaying what they were saying about their release dates hoping Princeton might be the same. I believe Cornell is saying they will drop on the 11th, according to applicants.

The SCEA schools don’t need to confer with one another to catch potential applicants who flouted the SCEA rules. It’s the guidance offices who police that. After all, you can’t complete your application without a transcript and counselor report!

I suppose a crafty student could submit early for RD and then switch to SCEA. If I were the college admissions office, I would do a quick call to the high school to check about those few students.

I would honestly guess that it would be on tuesday which is the 12th maybe even on the 13th. The past years have been on the 15th with the 1 year it was on the 18th.

they will probably release the date and time 5 days in advance.

hey guys, chance me:
I am a girl
I got an 18 on my ACT
My only curricular was ACT prep
I am also applying to cal, yale, and oxfort
I think my chances are pretty good, please tell me what y’all think!

Anyone else majoring in English?

@thebestACTscore OMG! That’s amazing… i think you have a gr9 shot for Princeton and all of those schools! the only thing you may be lacking is a sense of humor. How are your essays

I find it so interesting how prior threads were around the eightieth page by this date! :)) I wonder why we have so many fewer pages/posts. A very verbal bunch we are not, I guess.

Also, kind of want to reintroduce a trend from a prior thread: telling everyone good ©luck! ~:>

I applied SCEA and Princeton has contacted my school twice about my application. First, they asked me to send in AP scores, which I did not self report, and now they are harassing my school guidance office to submit my midyear and trimester 1 grades. They are asking for this before December 11. Any idea why??

@jewboy104 we have been discussing this issue for some time… we concluded that such occurring seems to be a positive thing, but there are so few samples that there is truly no definitive answer. My counselor was emailed and called asking for my progress grades as well, so, since there is not definitive proof of what it might mean, I just decided that it meant I wasn’t automatically rejected-which is something to celebrate in and of itself!

They always want as much information as possible to make a decision. If the AdCom assigned to your school knows that the school has 1st quarter/trimester grades available then the school would be asked to provide them if they aren’t sent beforehand. I don’t beleie it means anything more than the school wanting as much info as possible.

Yep it’s hard to say what the request means, but it does mean we’re not receiving our decisions until at least a few days after the 11th, haha

Check your email! We’ll get notified 12/13 after 3 pm

Yeyy! I’m so nervous though…
