Princeton University Summer Journalism Program Accepting Applications

It's a ten-day program at Princeton in August 2011. All expenses-paid, selective and prestigious. Five of our alumni are at Princeton with dozens more at Harvard, Yale, Columbia and other top schools. 2011 marks the tenth year of the program.

The application deadline is February 4, 2011 at 11:59PM.

More instructions and the application can be found here: Summer Journalism Program: The Princeton University Summer Journalism Program. Please e-mail us at sjp@princeton.edu if you have any questions.

I recently found out about the program, and I don’t have much time to work on my application, but I was wonder what exactly is judged when you guys choose students?
GPA? Extra curriculars? The essays on the application?

I’ve been interested in this program for a while, however I’ve been reluctant to apply since my family does not meet the minimum requirement for annual income. There are a few ways I can see my family as being “under resourced” but not dramatically so. I’m very serious about pursuing journalism/communications. Here’s my question - how adamant is the program on keeping to the low wages policy in response to a student who does not qualify in that particular aspect, but is eager and determined to work with your program?
