Did anyone else get accepted?
I did. But I can't really find much on the program, & their acceptance email was kind of bland, so I'm wondering about the validity of the whole thing.

Please tell me someone else heard of this!

I’ve heard of it. It looks pretty good. After all, it’s free. I plan on applying next year.

@Geography23-- Good luck next year! (:

Oh, & I should clarify. I wasn’t actually accepted, but I’ve been granted into the next round of applications. I have to get together my transcript & a letter of rec as well as an article that I wrote for my school’s nonexistent newspaper.
Just wondering if it’s worth all that work.

Thanks! And that’s barely any work.

Yeah, i know. I’m just extremely lazy. Haha.
The next round’s interviews, though. So it’s just like aaaaaaaah, so many rounds to go through.

I decided I’ll try.
Gonna ask my counselor for my transcripts tomorrow!

I got to the second round too7

Did anyone have their interviews yet? I was notified I got into the second round and sent in all materials but I don’t know anything about an interview. Also, what would the chances be of getting accepted after winning the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Award? (I know I sound like an ass).

I semt in all my materials but havent been notified of anything yet!

Exactly! I sent in everything and I haven’t heard back at all. It might be a coping mechanism, but I really think thought that I would be able to get an interview and that I had a chance. I really hope that it was some fluke but I don’t have a good feeling. Did anyone get an interview?!?!?
And when do we hear from back? It says from late April to early May and if we didn’t get interviews yet it definitely doesn’t look good.

I made it to the second round and I still haven’t received any reply from them about an interview either! Or at least an email notifying me that I didn’t make it. I’m anxious to hear from them already! :l

I made it to the 2nd round too. I shot them an email asking when we’ll be notified about our interview around a month ago. They still haven’t replied.

Same here. I sent them an email a while back in mid April and nothing.

Is there anything we can do? I haven’t been badgering them, but they apparently don’t respond to anyone’s emails. It comforts me that no one else has heard anything but I would say that it’s no longer “early May.”

I get the feeling that we are being intentionally ignored.

Yeah, I’ve already accepted the fact that I’m not going to get to go.

You would think they would show a bit more maturity in this whole situation.
I made it into the second rounds, too, & I’ve been wondering everyday when in hell I’d be getting a notification on either my failure or success.
I JUST got a phone call, & the lady on the other line asked, “Hello, is (insert my name here) there?”
My heart skipped a beat. I thought that maybe this would be it.

Turns out it was just Temple recruiting. Eff you, Temple.

I’m just ready to be rejected because it will be so much more satisfying than freaking out every time my email refreshes.

Is there any way someone can get in without doing an interview? Or am I just wishfully thinking?

I’m starting to think this was a scheme to get a bunch of aspiring high school kids’ parents’ tax returns. With social security numbers.

Did any of you guys get an email response back? Maybe this year, there’s a highly qualified applicant pool.

They should still have shot us an email regardless of how many people applied.
This is agonizing.
