kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Columbia no doubt. Location location location. And its academics are basically equal to that of Princeton’s.
Socially, Columbia DESTROYS Princeton, so if you want to have some fun in college, go to Columbia.

noooo, go to princeton!!! with me! after all, it is ranked number 1…but you should really visit both schools… oh and congrats!!

Haha it won’t be number 1 next year, after their yield rate gets demolished and all the kids accepted there go to Harvard, Yale, Standford and Columbia (which has a ridiculous rate this year too).
I guess if you are an all-grades, work hard not much play kind of person, go to Princeton.
If you want to have some fun too, go to Columbia.

princeton.. you can transfer out to columbia if u wish but u can never get into princeton if you miss this chance now

Lol the chances of disliking Columbia are … tiny. And transferring out of a college can be embarrassing and stressful.
Go to Columbia, two of my friends are freshmen there (one of them had a choice between it and princeton) and couldn’t be happier.

OP, you may want to disregard poster holas999’s comments. If you check her post history, you will find that she “really want[s]” to go to Princeton (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/471882-chances-princeton.html) but was waitlisted (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/princeton-university/484297-waitlist-thread.html, post #16), and is therefore spamming threads of other posters accepted to and considering Princeton, in a pointless attempt to increase the chance of her own acceptance there.

Actually I was rejected at Princeton. However I read that they had accepted close to 2000 applicants, for a class of 1,240, hence my post of “not high.” With that acceptance rate, they have incorporated a very low yield.
I plan on attending UPenn or Wash U.
My brother went to Princeton, and disliked it immensely, especially the eating club parts. I am certainly not bitter towards Princeton for rejecting me (I didn’t expect to get in) but if you don’t agree with what I say about it, feel free to post another opinion, but there is no point in discrediting me…

Holas–you have now posted on at least three or four threads, basically telling students that Princeton is the inferior choice compared to many other schools. While I understand that your brother may have had a bad experience at the school, that is definitely not true for the vast majority of students attending Princeton. Princeton’s social life is generally excellent–lots of parties, lots of theater and dance and an extremely diverse welcoming student body. Its academics are outstanding and it is just a terrific school. Columbia is also a great school and very different from Princeton in many ways. It is urban, has a core curriculum and some students feel that the social life does not occur on campus because NYC provides so many options.

I would recommend that anyone faced with two such wonderful choices visit the schools and then decide. I think that your posts, which are somewhat mean-spirited, don’t really contribute much to the discussion (I’m not trying to censor you, but posts such as “Haha it won’t be number 1 next year” are uncalled for).

The education you’ll get at either is terrific, but the two campuses are very, very different. Do you want to be in the middle of a big city or in a more suburban atmosphere? How do you feel about Princeton’s eating clubs, Columbia’s Core, and the other things that distinguish the two schools from each other?

Pretty campus at Princeton, but otherwise it’s dull, dull, dull. I’ll take Plato, Dante and Aeschylus at Columbia every time.
