<p>a. The rigor of the programs and how well they prepare an undergraduate for grad work.
b. Accessibility and supportiveness of the faculty
c. How aggressive does one have to be to seek out research experiences (S wants to go on to a PhD), or are they readily available?
d. Where to find stats about how many graduates go on to PhD programs and where?</p>
<p>Offhand, Princeton sounds like the best choice. This prejudice of mine seems to be consistent with the rankings as well.</p>
<p>However, Harvard has excellent programs in both, particularly in math (from what I hear). I would sincerely recommend that the choice come down to other factors rather than rankings, since these two are so similar. <p>I’d recommend Princeton though I’m biased. Faculty are very supported and research is a graduation requirement (in the form of junior papers and a thesis).</p>
