Princeton Waitlist 2017

Thank you !! Yes, I am international. As far as the updates, I sent two. The reason that I did this, however, was because I was first deferred and then wait listed - so one letter after being deferred and another after being wait listed. Also, my counselor lobbied a lot for me - she told me that she called Princeton several times. Good luck to everyone else!

So penguin20 have you decided where you will matriculate?

Penguin CONGRATS!!!

I have enjoyed watching this week of waitlist acceptances and am so happy for you 3 :-)

I was sure more were coming as someone I know decided to take a gap year very recently. So everyone else, hang in there, you never know!

Thank you  I meant it  and chances are Princeton, 99% sure, I just have to take a look to the financial aspect but looks like its a yes!

:( i’m getting discouraged…haven’t heard anything back from Princeton yet…

No notification from Princeton yet either… has the university begun sending out rejection letters?

no…not at all…rejections won’t be known until the very last day possible, june 30

i wish princeton would create an active waitlist to provide an update to those with a good chance of getting off the waitlist while cutting out those who they really don’t want

i just want to know where i stand. sigh.

^I agree with OREgineering.

princeton please <3333333 :’(

it really would be a dream come true to get in off the waitlist :’)

Perhaps some of the people who applied to bridge year and just got their decisions will take a gap year on their own if the bridge program did not work out for them…

I thought people who wanted to take a gap year had to do so by either May 13 or 15…I forget which of the two dates, but the people who wanted a gap year had a hard deadline that was a while ago…

ORE – my friend (non bridge year candidate, just a regular USA acceptee) asked for a gap year 2 weeks ago and it got granted ASAP. Then 2 gals in here got off the waitlist a few days later.

So I think it’s certainly flexible depending on circumstances – that’s why the waitlist stays open to June 31. Makes sense the admissions office would prefer these requests sooner (May) rather than later, but it seems the class is not locked in until June 31. Someone’s circumstances can still change – got off another waitlist, illness, gap vs bridge to still travel/do glabal things now, family issue, financials, a calling, an unexpected travel/service opportunity, new vision, love, major leagues, burnout, who knows what else!!

So do not despair yet. I would really love to see you at Pton!! have you popped Admissions any last updates or witty/heartfelt final note of late? Can’t hurt, right?

Interesting…what is the basic profile of your friend? (Gender, geographic region, ethnicity, concentration, and ECs) Idk whether it would be accurate to link the two phenomena together…correlation does not imply causation…

Yes. I sent a second letter with updates of grades and awards/honors that arrived at the end of the first week of June.

The possibilities are indeed endless…we must remain hopeful…

Funny how as I read this thread I am pulling for you to get in!!! =) Not that the sideline encouragement means much but I really hope the best for you and others who are stuck in the waiting mode.

ORE – As with Cantiger, i am “pulling for you” too – energetically and all  You seem like you would be a great classmate to have and would very much appreciate/value/make the most of the oppty. May i ask where you are committed too? If that’s too personal, no prob!! None at all, just like I am sure you understand i hesitate to share my friend’s stats here. As to your comment “the possibilities are endless” … here’s one i JUST heard of as a reason another person just deferred enrollment at another Ivy – pregnancy. It happens. And shame on me, there is no 31st of June, obviously that should’ve been June 30 i n my post … or perhaps even July 1 this year as June 30th is on the weekend. Am i correct that i thought I ‘saw’ a trend in here that the off waitlist acceptances have been trickling in tiny waves mainly on Wednesdays? Well here’s to a happy 19th or 26th for you :-)

LOL, in here I need spellcheck, typing clases, smaller fingers and more patience to proofread; sorry all!

Thanks PrincetonHappy and Cantiger for the support. It is much appreciated. Hopefully I do end up as one of your fellow classmates. Yeah, I would be grateful for getting into Princeton and would no doubt make the most out of my experience there.

I am currently committed at UC Berkeley College of Engineering.

Oh wow, those are some seriously unexpected circumstances for that girl. Which Ivy was it?

Hope for the best (although not going to get my hopes too high because I don’t want to be severely crushed if all does not go well), prepare for the worst I guess…

Berkeley Engineering!!! CONGRATS on that, wow!!! And hey, the weather is better to boot! Many many kids would kill for their “plan B” to be Berkeley…

Cornell. Tho a grapevinish, 4th hand piece of info. not out of the realm of course

Nice, Cornell is awesome. What are you majoring in?

Lol I just had a really interesting day. First, my mom got a phone call from New Jersey. But the phone number had a 213 area code from Bayonne rather than 609 from Princeton. When I searched up the phone number on Google and it gave me no hits, I was sort of dismayed. The universe was trolling me… Also a guy friend asked me out but I didn’t know he liked me like that…so finding that out was really awkward too…
