Princeton

Hi all,

I was wondering if you guys could chance me. I know Princeton will be a reach for anyone, but I just wanted to get a feel.

GPA: 4.0
Classes: Rigorous, including two independent studies I've crafted on my own
Class Rank: my school doesn't give out class rank
SAT: I plan to get about a 690-700 on math, 720-730 on CR, and a 720-740 on writing
SAT II: US History-710 Literature-720
EC: I do the usual school clubs and such, but I spend most of my time writing. I've written and published 2 books with a contract for 2 more. I write for one of the largest publishers and started when I was 14. Due to this I've also been interviewed/written articles for media such as The Guardian, BBC, and Huffington Post. I've interviewed on television, and frequently speak on panels and give talks on mental health.

I'll have good teacher recommendations (from Biology and History teachers) and good college recommendations, but doesn't everyone? I'll also have an optional recommendation from my editor at my publishing house.

I know my SAT scores are lower than I'd like (I don't test well at all!), and I have slightly unusual extracurriculars. Would one outweigh the other enough?

Thanks,
A Worried Student

Your EC sounds very impressive and I would think that counts for alot so I wouldn’t worry too much unless you completely bomb the SAT.

Thanks, scubadive! You really think it’s ok to have SAT scores in the late 600s?

Forgot to mention that I’m a direct legacy at Princeton and I’m planning on applying EA.

your profile looks very good. you have a good chance.
