hey david.
I´m one of those kids that did eveything they could to get into an ivy league school.
3.88 GPA
34 ACT
4 varsity sports throughout high school
President of the Student Government
Vice President of the Key Club
Community service enough to be recently featured on the cover of a nationally published magazine after receiving an award for said service work
Eagle Scout
etc.

sorry, don´t have my resume with me at the moment but you get the picture.

and all that being said, I didn´t get in. But im not here to complain about it, I´m here to encourage you to apply because as Extemp pointed out it truly is a complete crapshoot for 99% of the applicants. But why not take a shot? you have the credentials to get in and its a great school so put in the extra time to complete the application (and supplement) and just go for it! You really never know…

Shoot for the moon, land among the stars. Good luck my friend.

It’s worth a shot. As they say, you’ve got to be in it to win it.

You’ll need to do an arts supplement and I would advise a third letter of rec from someone commenting on musical talents. Basically, on academics alone you would have little chance of getting in. You have to show them that your talents are so special that you warrant admission anyway.

Also, why Princeton? Why not other schools more focused on the arts?

I don’t want to attend conservatory. I love to play, and will always play/gig. However, being in it all of my life, I know I don’t want to do it for a living.
