hocus pocus by kurt vonnegut...GREAT book.

ooo yeah Poisonwood Bible is good.
i just thought of some other good ones- Peace Like a River (Enger) and East of Eden (Steinbach)

Is Poisonwood Bible one of those books that gets better as you go along? Because I've tried to start it about five times (after hearing how great it is), and every time I just get bored and give up about ten pages into it. I know that's bad...but nothing holds my attention at the beginning.

Maybe if I knew there was something amazing coming.

C.S. Lewis! He's my favorite author ever.

j07, it actually does get better. it's a bit boring in the beginning but it gets a lot better near the middle.. i wrote a 15 page essay on it for english.. there's so much in the book! it's probably my favorite book this year so far.

cat's cradle by vonnegut is also good.

The Diamond Age, by Neal Stephenson. Post-cyberpunk fiction - it's excellent, though a little odd at times.
