Princeton's physics department

How strong is Princeton's physics department? How crazy are students majoring in physics? I was thinking of choosing either BSE or AB as a physics major, and ended up signing up for physics on that tentative course registration form. I am wondering if it was a wise decision.

Princeton's physics department is extremely well regarded, and has a very large faculty. The department size is pretty small, which makes for a very small student/faculty ratio. Many people also choose to go to the astrophysics path. I think that the strength of the department is in quantum physics, although there are several professors who have recently gotten interested in biophysics. You don't have to choose which path to go yet, as many of the physics and bse requirements overlap (freshman year would be physics and math). You may want to take chem and a cs course just to hedge your bets (although if you have ap chem credit then you don't have to take that)

Didn't they recently lose their department head? (2 years ago or so).

I was thinking of taking the Integrated Science program via AB route as a physics major. Is that a good idea?
