Print them out ?

So for most of my schools, when I click on the supplement tab, it brings up a pdf-kinda thing with all my info and my essay showing on a separate blank piece of paper.

So is the way that we view the supplement the exact same way the college will view it when they upload it ? Since it is a pdf-type thing, I don't think there's a way to like, extract text because you can't hilight any of the text body. One of the english teachers at my school requires his class to hand their assignments in on discs so that he can hilight random sentences and run them through Google (he's weird).
But basically, do colleges just print out all of our apps onto paper to begin reviewing them? - pretty much equating the applicants who applied online to those who applied via paper by doing so ?

From what I have heard, most colleges print out online apps.
But in fact you can highlight a piece of text in a pdf document and copy and paste it into another document.

Oh for real? Haha. I mean, Idk if they do that ? but I actually didn't know that that's possible. At least on my computer, it won't let me hilight pdf text.

It definitely works with the latest version of the acrobat reader. It didn't work with some previous versions as far as I know.
