Looking for some help on finding small foot-print printer... Looking for something less than 12" wide and 12" deep. I have to put it on my desk, so there is hardly any room. I had a 13" x "17 printer last semester and it took up half my desk. Just need a printer... no all-in-one.

Pick one w cheap ink cartridges

I like Brother laser printers if you can live without color. Toner cost are much lower than ink. Size is 14.5"x14.2"x7.2".

HP is king

I purchased the Brother HL-2240 for my college-bound son for $50 at Staples this summer, but it was 14 x 14 inches, so too large for your purposes. It isn’t wireless but many students on his floor have managed to use it and it has held up well. Cost of use of laser printers is so much lower than ink jet as long as you are OK with B&W.

HP sells the 1102 with a smaller footprint, but I have never owned a compact HP. We have three different HP laser printers in the house now, but they are larger and each cost in the $300-$400 range.
