Would it be easier to bring my own printer to my dorm? If not, where can I find a printer to use?

bring your own! and print before you head off to campus!

dell and hp brands are the best.

I didn’t have a printer last year and I loved it. I was in courses where professors posted articles we were supposed to read on blackboard and I liked to print those (the equivalent of four pages per sheet of printed paper, of course) and my ink jet printer really couldn’t handle all that printing. I don’t think prices for netprint are unreasonable at all. So, that’s an option too.

But I’m also one of those people who was always in Olin or Libe Caf

its always nice to have a cheap black and white printer to print out papers and stuff on your own dime before heading off to 9am writing seminar…

for writing seminar you will sometimes have to print 2-3 additional copies of your paper for peer review!

There are printers in every library on campus (or at least all the major ones), and you can remotely print pages on them. You will be charged about 10 cents per page, black and white.

So no, you don’t really need a printer, however I would recommend buying a cheap printer from target when you get there, just something to get the job done that also has cheap ink cartridges. Printing in your dorm is a lot more convenient than printing in the libraries, as you could run into the possibility of finding out all the printers in a library are out of paper or broken or constantly printing other people’s pages while you are trying to print your essay for your next class.
