I'm planning on applying to transfer, and im just wondering if i don't fill out my FAFSA for that school until after the "Priority Date" will it hurt me? The only thing i get from FAFSA right now is Loans (unsubsidized stafford or w/e), no grants or anything, and my family income has increased since then...so, is this bad to file, say the first week of march after the 1st?

Nobody on this forum can know for sure. You should call the school for whatever clarification you can get for your situtation. If you don't find out anything else, I think it would be foolish and risky to assume a deadline does not apply to you.

The one thing that I have heard at every financial aid seminar I have gone to is "Pay attention to the deadlines; they are REAL." Schools have only so much money to go around, and those with priority deadlines say that they will first give their money to the kids who met the deadline and then consider everyone else for whatever's left. Is that a risk you want to take?

Since you already know where you are applying, why would you miss the deadline? Get the form done. You never now what will be available to you unless you file the forms...ON TIME.

Be safe and adhere to th priority deadline!

but the only thing that it will affect is the amount of scholarship money the school will get? if this is the case, i do not fall in a need-based scholarship program (our family income is 250K+ before taxes), so do i need to even worry?

bump------

Maybe if you rewrite #6 so it is easy to understand someone will answer.

what i meant was: does the priority date just mean that they give those people that complete the FAFSA by that date preference for university-given need-based scholarships, and anyone that completes it after that date gets whatever is left?
if this is true, then should i even worry about it since i doubt i will get any need-based money? (my family makes over 250K before taxes, and i get nothing at my current school)

"Priority date" could mean different things at different schools. Since you are expecting loans only, you are probably fine to wait since the schools don't "run out" of loans they can approve as far as I know.
