Although UCONN states that they no longer have an Early Action deadline, they do still have the Priority Deadline for merit-based scholarships. Because they also claim to have Rolling Admissions, does this mean I could hear back from them at any time or after the Regular Decision decisions are released March 1st?? I sent my application on Oct 26th, and everything was completed on Nov 1st, so now I'm just anxiously waiting

Hi, I also submitted my application a few weeks ago. I was under the impression that they will begin notifying you on March 1st. I would imagine if you applied early you would hear on 3/1 or within a few days of that. But if you applied late in January you might not hear back until a little after march first. I think that the rolling admission only applies to people applying for the spring semester. I could be wrong, but that’s how I think it works! I wish they had EA and we didn’t have to wait so long… Good luck!

Errgg, okay. Thanks a bunch!

I spoke to admissions and they stated that decisions will be made 4-6 weeks after they receive a completed application.

See that’s what I thought it was! Okay, thank you!

I don’t think that timeframe is accurate - I submitted my application on 10/2, and it was complete about a week later.
I spoke to a representative at a college fair, and she said that even though I submitted it early, I won’t hear back until they start sending out all the decisions (in the February/March range)

That can’t be the case since I applied to the BS/MD program and it requires admission into the undergraduate program before January 2014. The admissions person stated that would hear back about in early Dec 2013.

It’s quite confusing. My S applied hoping for a quick EA-like decision and we have concluded that it likely won’t be until Feb/Mar before he hears anything. I hope some of the other opinions are correct because he will likely have a couple more acceptances before then and it will probably subdue his interest in UConn if he has to wait that long.

I don’t know if the process has changed, but I’m positive that 2 years ago folks received EA decisions earlier than Feb/Mar. My D’s best friend was accepted around Thanksgiving.

They used to have EA, but unfortunately they changed that in the last year or so.

Too bad for UCONN, In this day most schools are letting decisions out earlier and earlier. By the time My S hears from UCONN he will probably have already made up his mind on one of his other schools. I bet they lose a lot of talented students because of their admissions policies.

ughhh i can’t wait another two and a half months

They start telling people whether or not they got in by the very beginning of feb. I’m a freshman now

I am wondering if anyone has any more information on when UConn might start sending out decisions. Past thread posts seem varied in their opinion. Please post if you have more info. please.

Does applying after the dec 1st priority deadline also decrease your chances for admittance? Or just for scholarships.

They no longer do rolling admissions, everyone will hear around March 1st. It is too bad but they will have to wait. My d and friends all applied by 11/1 priority and no one has heard anything.

It is too bad that UCONN waits until March. Many of these Universities have already rolled out offers. My DS1 is in his 2nd year at UCONN and as parents we like it.

Our DS2 has been accepted into U of South Carolina (H waiting on scholarship offer), North Carolina State U (H), Penn St (waiting on H), and the U of Alabama (H w/ 50% scholarship). As much as we like UCONN DS2 is falling away from UCONN and is starting to set his eyes afar. What ever happens he has to chart his own journey. Wish he would stay close to home but I just don’t see it happing at this point.

In the end all good schools and all the best to you kids.

Looked at last year’s thread and on 2/4 I posted that my DS had been accepted. We missed the 12/1 deadline but applied on 12/10.
