So I finished my Penn State application a while ago and sent in my scores also.
All that's left are my transcripts, but my school is really bad at sending these on time, so they haven't been sent. The priority deadline is November 30 (this Friday), and I have no school at all this week. So it's looking like I'm going to miss the priority deadline. How much have my chances for admission dropped by missing this deadline?

My desired major is Finance (Smeal)
I'm in state
3.73 UW GPA, 26 ACT

Are you sure these weren’t sent already? It may take a few days for PSU to update your application to complete online.

I personally, would have stayed on top of making sure my transcripts were sent in a very timely manner. No excuses from the school. This is part of their JOB! They should know and do know how important it is to the seniors applying to colleges. I would have checked a few days before break to make the GC how important it is to you.

People definitely get accepted after the priority deadline. It’s just if this is the school of choice, you make it a priority.

No, they dont. If the transcript is postmarked Nov 30th or earlier it will count towards priority deadline, but if your transcript shows up as being sent December 1st, then you are in the next wave and are not guaranteed a decision by January 31st. They have to make a cut off somewhere.
I’d call admissions tomorrow and see if your transcript is there. After tomorrow, the admissions office is closed until Monday. If its not there and doesn’t get sent prior to Nov 30th, then unfortunately you won’t get priority application status. That doesn’t mean you won’t get in. Lots of people get in that applied after that date. It just means it’s more competitive because others have already taken spots. Smeal is also a very competitive school at PSU.
Also, make sure your guidance counselor isn’t in the office. Just because students are off does not always mean administration is.
Good luck!

@nikomalingo haha i have the similar stats but i took sat 1810(superscore) and im international my average percentage for my 9,10,11,12 in 80% so I think my gpa will be around 3.7 us scale and even i’m going to apply for finance major in smeal. psu is my first choice. and do they have a specific amount of seats for international students because it says international priority is feb 1

@ind1900 no clue man, but I would assume that they do. Maybe they have a certain amount of seats reserved for in state people and then the remaining is up for grabs. Again, no clue
