So is anyone else getting a priority mail envelope from duke?? Most of my other colleges have sent me regular envelopes so I'm confused why duke would be doing this. Why such the rush to get us our admissions packets? Or maybe they simply ran out of envelopes... Or
their contet was too heavy for their own envelope... Any thoughts?

Um maybe they just wanted to get the stuff to you faster? I for one was super-impatient to get my package :P

i think they can track the package this way, and make sure it gets to you. haha i was like, YAHH for quality. go duke!

Duke sends the priority envelope to all accepted students and they did the same thing last year. So did WashU, Rice, and many others. Nothing special.

Just be happy you got into Duke… many waitlistees/rejectees would have loved to have gone to Duke. You shouldn’t have started a thread on such a trivial issue. I know you are excited about getting into Duke (as was I last year), but why does it matter if you get a USPS priority mail envelope or a regular one? It doesn’t mean Duke views you as more special than anyone else they accepted. Although I know you are not intentionally trying to rub your acceptance into other people’s faces, your post definitely comes off that way.

To all those accepted, congratulations! But please respect those who have been waitlisted/rejected and avoid starting threads on trivial issues such as USPS priority fat envelope vs. a regular fat envelope.

Believe me, I am iNCREDIBLY happy that I got into duke and I wasn’t trying to rub it in. I know how annoying it is from other users. To be honest, I thought I might be the only one with a weird envelope because I was a mistake or something, or they had wanted to reject or waitlist me and had decided against it last minute. So I just wanted to check if others had gotten it. seems like they have. Sorry if I offended anyone but it seems so hard to start an honest thread now without coming off as rubbing it in, or pretentious, or even a ■■■■■.

Slik nik, I don’t think his post “definitely comes off that way.” Besides, I’ve seen much more trivial threads across all the boards than this, which is a somewhat legitimate question.

i know! I got wait listed and would be happy to take your spot!!!

@ bluewatermelon: I can see where you are coming from now. And I’m glad you are happy that you are got into Duke – it is an amazing school Anyway, don’t worry that they made a mistake- admissions staff double check that letters are being sent to the right people. Good luck with your decision!

No admissions packet yet! They must have sent me a lowly non-priority envelope. Lol jk
