Priority Review (Early Notification)

Any news in regard to when PR decisions will be released? I noticed that my application was on the "last step" on the application tracker online at the beginning of January and I was wondering if you guys think it will take a full 6 weeks to finalize everything?

mine as been the same since early january as well, i think they said they’d be sent out around the 10th of next month

Alright, thank you! Also, last year it was the 22nd I believe. Do you know where they post updates about the notification date?

People report here when they receive them - it was around Feb 13 last year.

Oh, my bad. I guess this can be the thread for leading up to the release date if anybody wants to talk or share their stats!

I did PR and my MyRoc account just moved to step three a couple weeks ago. UR is my first choice and I’m anxious to know if I got in. Can’t wait until the week of February 15!

I applied PR and to the Simon case competition. Do you know when those will be released. I am on stage 4 and am wondering if i got in/ got accepted for the case competition

Yeah. I am on stage four too and it seems strange that it would take another month for them to make the decision. Does anyone know if it is possible for decisions to go out earlier than feb 15? That would be a nice treat

Definitely, UVA released their’s 20 days early so I’m kind of hoping for Rochester to do something similar!

20 days! Wow, that’s super early. I’m so excited to find out if I got in!

I am an athletic recruit and the coach told me they would most likely be earlier this year (each year the admissions office tries to beat the previous year!)

i applied pr… I’m only on step 3, even though I submitted my app in like November. I’m pretty sure I’ll get in though. hopefully they release early this year!

There’s always hope - it looks like the ED II letters have gone out, so maybe they will concentrate on the PR applicants now.

I got accepted to the Simon Case Competition today and was wondering if anyone else has as well. The message reads

“Congratulations! You have been selected as a finalist for the Simon Scholars Case Competition to be held on Sunday February 17th and Monday February 18th. I am happy to hear that you will be joining us to compete for this annual $15,000 scholarship awarded for each year that you are an undergraduate at University of Rochester. In addition, if you apply for admission to the Simon Graduate School of Business upon completion of your undergraduate degree and gain admission, you will continue to receive the minimum $15,000 Simon Scholarship.”

Does this mean I have been accepted to Rochester? I find it weird to be accepted as a finalist for a scholarship if not accepted to the school. I have emailed my admission counselor but was wondering what you guys think.

Thanks

If they could get them out by Feb 1 that would be awesome!

Most definitely! My account is still on step three while I hear everyone’s is on step four. I hope they could get them out by Feb. 1. I kind of want to ask them…

@TSocash … Is there a chance priority review decisions will come out a bit early this year? I’m not sure if I can tag on here… I’m new to collegeconfidential. We would love to find out early.

My D is still on step 2

cookie,

Short answer: You can expect your PR decision letter to arrive around Feb. 15th.

I am happy to give updates, but with a disclaimer. Last year 95% of our “Priority Review” applicants heard during the week after February 15th. We had a few applicants that accidentally slipped through the cracks due to coding / mailing errors, and we were quick to fix these issues. As of right now, I do not know exactly when the large batch of PR decision letters will be shipped, but I am sure that this will happen in mid-February as advertised. As of today you should expect to receive your PR decision letter around February 15th or shortly after.

Your MyRoc account will stay in the Committee Review stage for a few days after your letter has shipped. We do this to curtail people from calling and saying, “I see that a decision has been made. What is it?” We want you to have the physical letter in your hands before that point!

Only ~ 4 weeks until PR decisions will be out. This could always change as we are poised to have our highest application total in the University of Rochester’s history. I’ll be sure to post an update here if the mailing date changes at all.

I applied PR and on my page, I have a name/photo for a first reader, a blank for second reader, then a name/photo for committee review, and of course, still a blank for decision. Are all apps read twice?
