Priority Review (Early Notification)

We are in Texas and my daughter didn’t get her decision yet either.

I’m away and stopped my mail so I’m not going to be able to read the letter til next Monday. However, I got a finincial aid letter today from a. Counselor talking about aid for next year at Rochester. Does this mean I got in?

Accepted in NJ :-)

Ekeller999, D got the same e-mail, but no paper envelope yet in Illinois. I hope it means D got in. Our mail comes about 4pm, so I will let you know then.

Mom2kids2dogs, thank you. Let me know! Good luck!

My son received his acceptance letter yesterday.

Hi everyone,

I am an applicant for Priority Review from New Jersey, and have still not received a reply yet but my friend in the town over did receive a deferral letter. However, I did receive an email from Rochester that states I have been recently identified as a student who needs to submit additional application materials for the financial office. I am not sure what this means in terms of admission, but someone told me that it probably means my application was forwarded to Regular Decision because I require additional financial documents. I hope this is not the case because I really wanted to hear back from Uni. of Roch. as early as possible as it is one of my top choices. Can someone please help me understand my situation? Much appreciated, thanks!

U of R requires the CSS Profile. Did you submit that? It’s accessed at collegeboard.org ([CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>CSS Profile – CSS Profile | College Board))

I submitted the FAFSA as well as the CSS Profile before the deadline. The email is asking for documents such as tax forms to the CollegeBoard IDOC Service.

I got the same email and am away so I will not have my decision til next Monday. I am also wondering what the email means for my decision

Today my DD received both her acceptance and the email about needing to submit additional materials. The IDOC materials were sent last week so hopefully they are received in time. We are looking forward to attending the 2017 Experience.

Yeah, I got the same email. I wonder why they gave this notification so late.

@ekeller999
I don’t think it means anything because we can get deferred not just accepted/rejected.

I had my taxes fully filed on January 31st. Maybe if they’re not already filed, they need to have an official copy, but that is only a guess.

Thanks libertymom. I was also wondering if the financial aid e-mail received today was the reason my D has not received her decision yet. I’m glad to hear that is not the reason, but we are still wondering what the hold-up is!

JEDad, make sure you submit them to IDOC. Filing them with the IRS does not get them to UR. Whether or not you have filed every applicant for financial aid has to upload their taxes to IDOC which you get instructions for after submitting the CSS.

For people who have received their decision, does your MyRoc say step 4 or 5, mine still says step 4 and I haven’t received anything and I live in Maryland which really isn’t too far

@libertymom How did you know to send the IDOC to University of Rochester before the email you received today? It is not a requirement on the website!

@amipat01 - I sent the documents to the College Board’s IDOC service. The email received today stated that U of R does receive it from IDOC.

Hi all,

I’m also an applicant for PR. I’m from Connecticut and a friend in my town received her acceptance letter yesterday, and I have yet to receive mine. We both got the same financial email about IDOC’s. I’ve spoken with Ms. Jane Ross, my admission counselor, before I applied about financial aid and she said the two offices are completely separate and they in no way influence your decision, therefore the email we all received shouldn’t bump us into Regular Decision. It’s probably just a snail-mail problem. Or maybe they send them out alphabetically. I don’t know.

I’m literally going crazy waiting for the letter, though. Even went to the post office to see if they had it sorted and it just hadn’t made the day’s mail trip. Hopefully tomorrow!
