Priority Status

I got a letter from a Wichita State University saying I am now on priority status. How do they decide who is on priority status and is it of any benefit? I would appreciate any help! :)

It’s a marketing strategy. They make you feel wanted and hope you take notice. It worked.

Find out if there is any benefit from it. Some schools would waive the application fee or essay requirement.

Wow, congrats!!

Yeah, they mentioned waiving the essay and no need for recommendation letters.

Wichita State has a mandate to bring in a broad swath of KS students. Thus their requirements aren’t very high

That’s why it’s in their interest to try to attract applicants with above avg GPA and test scores. Likely, your info came from lists they bought from the various testing agencies. Your priority status saves you $30. And NO ONE is required to submit rec letters – didja catch that?

Are they trying to market their Honors College to you? Is Wichita State otherwise, interesting to you? Then go and apply.

Yeah my GPA is way higher than their requirements. I live in Oklahoma City not Kansas. I’m looking at attending a better university than Wichita State, I was just curious about the letter they sent me.
