Priority waitlist

Hi,

I hope im being clear because this is data passed on to me over the phone. I am not at home now

My dad called and said my CMU waitlist letter came today. It app. said that I had the option of chosing Waitlist or Priority waitlist

Whats the difference?

which should I choose?

I have got admitted in Rice and Tufts and am still going to follow these though. Main thing is, from what I hear, If u accept priority wl and get in, u HAVE to attend.
fINANCIAL AID IS A PROBLEM, SO SHOULD i JUST TAKe the regular one?

Thanks ,
Antarius

If you're interested in CMU definitely take the PWL. There you'll have a chance....very little chance off the regular WL. For PWL they'll call you after May 1 (May 6 or so is the date that's been mentioned) and want to know fairly soon if you want to accept their offer or not. I believe PWL people receive a financial aid statement but not sure, you should call the school to make sure you'll have one before/if you get the call.

There are several posts on the CMU board about this subject.

I got rice, tufts so far, cmu, jhu, chicago were waitlisted... is it a good idea? especially since ECE chances are low...

Wait, priority wait-list means you have to go if you get in? I was priority wait-listed at rice and it said nothing about this...
