Pierre0913, could you elaborate? They could offer more than the 10K already awarded?

Pierre is correct. My son received add’l scholarships after the initial offers (I recall they came much later in the process however) and was also awarded add’l scholarships after freshmen year (performance-based?) Perhaps the admissions/fin’l aid depts need to determine who is matriculating and the availability of scholarship funds, which is why subsequent scholarships get distributed.

Pierre, do you think if my senior year first semester grades are really good (good enough to significantly increase my class rank) that there would be any point in calling the admissions office to see if they would increase the amount of the scholarship? How likely is it that more merit scholarships will be awarded after the FAFSA has been reviewed?

Pierre0913 sent me this link before but I read it differently. This link answers my questions.

Mechanical engineering

Still considering nc state and wont find out about Duke for months

dizzbang, I don’t exactly know the answer to that question.

doesn’t hurt to try though I guess?

If you receive the oos tuition waiver are any other scholarships available that are offered to the student prior to spring?

Cindybasket, there is the possibility that you will get additional scholarships in addition to the OOS tuition waiver

I received my acceptance letter a week or two ago, along with the $10,000 merit award. I’d love to know what other scholarships are available down the line (departmental?) Also, does anyone know when Calhoun decisions are sent?

There are a bunch of restricted scholarships that you could receive. I’m not sure as to how much you could get but there is definitely the potential for more scholarships: [Clemson University Scholarships and Grants : Clemson University](<a href=“Types of Aid - Student Financial Aid | Clemson University”>Types of Aid - Student Financial Aid | Clemson University)

As for the Calhoun Honors College, you will be notified February 15th at midnight if you applied before December 1st

Are all of the people receiving their admission decision so early because they are receiving scholarships?

Application on 9/15. No word yet. Does that make sense to you all? I thought Clemson was rolling!

Atanner12, yes people who are receiving admissions decisions now are receiving significant scholarship money.

placido240, Clemson is not completely rolling. If you apply anytime before December 1st, you will know your admissions decision at the earliest on February 15th (unless you are receiving big scholarships). After February 15th, it is rolling admissions. Hope that clears things up! (so hang in there for another 2 months!)

If this is true, why is most everyone on this thread posting that they got in and their stats? It is clearly not Feb. 15th yet.

haha did you not read what I wrote in that post? “(unless you are receiving big scholarships)” everyone posting is receiving substantial scholarship money

My D submitted her app on 9/1 along with Tulane and Auburn. She was admitted in early October from Tulane and Auburn with significant merit scholarship. Not a word from Clemson. A little weird. We are in Northern California.

what are her stats like? Clemson is definitely more selective than Auburn but the fact that Tulane has accepted her and gave her a scholarship (am I reading that right or did she just get a scholarship from Auburn?) is curious since Tulane is a very selective school.

I have a 28 on my ACT, and I am in the top 10% of my class. I applied after the priority deadline, though. Would I still hear about the $5000 OOS scholarship before the notification date? It’s hard to keep calm knowing other people are getting in haha. I literally applied right after 12/1

That would be a question you would need to ask the admissions office. I understand how you feel! I was the same way when I was going through the college admissions process haha (checking my mailbox and email everyday, checking any online statuses every hour hahaha)
