Priority

also awarded 17k per year from Tulane and 10k per year from Auburn

hmm I really don’t have an answer for you then. What is her class rank? Clemson typically likes high school students to be in the top 10 percent of their high school class. (she definitely has the minimum SAT score to be considered for scholarships)

Her high school does not rank, but I’m sure she is in the top 15%

hmmm that is interesting. I’m not sure what happened or what you should even do. Anybody else in a similar situation to italmom? (not sure whether it would be appropriate to ask the admissions office?)

hope everything works out!

Thank you!

application dates would be appreciated…it seems most applied in september

my D applied late August. I think I am going to call them next week.

Pierre, how much emphasis does Clemson place on a legacy application? I noticed the application asked a couple of times if either parent or other family members have attended Clemson.

it’s definitely an important factor from what I’ve heard (not as important as stuff like high school coursework, GPA, class rank, SAT/ACT scores of course)

D got the fat letter a few days ago.

OOS (Massachusetts)

Applied in August

She was awarded $7500/year.

Received mine in the mail today. I submitted right before the deadline so I thought I’d post to show that it is probably towards the end of the cycle for receiving these scholarship letters.

OOS
36 ACT
4.8 Weighted, 4.0 UW
Top 2% out of 477
$15,000/year awarded

I also applied right before the priority deadline and I got my letter today!!

OOS
3.6 GPA UW
2010 SAT
applied to the nursing school
I was given $10,000 a year:)

D received hers a couple of weeks ago.

OOS VA

1430 CR+M SAT
2150 w writing
15/450 class rank

Hoping that she gets even more once Calhoun decisions come out. If not, and she gets into UVA or W&M she will probably stay in state.

Does anyone know if Clemson ever awards additional scholarships to applicants AFTER they have received a recruiting scholarship?

yes they do

Okay Pierre, usually you provide a little more infor than that! I my question wasn’t specific enough.

So how do they go about giving these additional scholarships? With financial aid award letters? And if so, what happens if you don’t apply for financial aid? Do I need to fill out separate applications? I know I am not strong enough to get into Calhoun…

haha sorry! I just moved somewhere for an internship and I just got my internet hooked up today! (hard to answer in depth from my phone)

ehh I’m not sure if you need to apply for financial aid (shouldn’t have to for merit based scholarships). This would be something to ask financial aid about ([Contact Us : Clemson University](Contact Student Financial Aid | Clemson University))
