<p>Sigh. Another believer in the “fast lane.”</p>

<p>On multi-lane highways the theory makes more sense, but on two-lane highways (that is, two lanes each direction) the left lane should be the passing lane. You should get in it to pass the guy in front of you, but you shouldn’t linger in it.</p>
