Priv vs Public

I wish to take a college course over the summer, Would it make more sense to take it with a Private University, The State's Flagship (UCONN)/ Other Public Colleges, or Community Colleges?

community college

Any reasoning? The courses will be online? Also I am worried about the transfer?

The one that will be cheaper, which in most cases will be the CC. Most of the time it will transfer, assuming that it is a “core” credit and not an elective. If the credits did not transfer, students would not go to CC and transfer to a 4 year institution in the first place. You live in Connecticut, so choose the one closest to you, Gateway, Norwalk, Housatonic, Middlesex, Naugutuk, etc.

College courses can be quite expensive and taking it at a community college will be to your advantage. Many high school students do double enrollment through the school year and it is through community colleges, so I wouldn’t be too worried.

How do I know if its a core or elective or does that matter on my planned major?

What do you plan to take? Most credits do transfer unless it’s something like “Underwater Basket Weaving.” I assume that you are taking it to get ahead in college or to take something that you couldn’t in high school.

It would either be international relations/ government or some form of American gov/ politics. I wish to major in poli sci and business/ accounting in college.
