private aerospace engineering

what is the future outlook for the private aerospace industry, mostly space exploration (lie spacex)

how did these people (the owner/founders) of these private companies go about to achieving this

do you have to already have tons of money from other sources or is there some other way

thanks

I’d say with that sort of thing it’d be very important to go to a school known for ambitious entrepreneurs, because even if you’re not founding a company you’ll be needing to connect with the people that do.

Elon Musk (founder of spaceX) came up with Paypal, so yeah he had quite a bit of money before he got into the Aerospace business. Just an FYI, SpaceX doesn’t do space exploration as far as I know. Most of their buzz has been centered on their Falcon rockets to deliver satellites to LEO.

chuy,
what kind of colleges would that be?

and gthopeful,
yeah I knew Musk had money beforehand so I was trying to think of another to get something like that started

maybe if you did some kind of breakthrough research in the field that could be marketed, could you get $ through that to start a company

and also, if spacex is mostly about that, what companies sthat are similar foucs a bit more on exploration
i know that it is a long-term goal of spacex, but I get your point

thanks everyone
