Private bathrooms at Brown

I’m wondering if there are any dorm rooms at Brown that have a private bathroom for students with a medical disability.

Why don’t you contact the Office of Residential Life and ask?

Because they’re closed today.

@sushiritto Hope you were kidding…there seems no particular urgency to the question.

Serious as a heart attack. Maybe the OP just wanted an answer now from one of the many Brown parents and/or students here in CC and not have to wait until tomorrow to call Brown about their bathrooms.

I was going to ask you about your answering a question with another question. Just let someone who knows the answer, answer the question of the OP.

My son’s floor has a separate disability accessible bathroom with private shower adjacent to the two larger communal bathrooms. When he filled out his “room status” report there were some questions related to bathrooms which he responded to n/a. That suggests however that some rooms likely have attached bathrooms but I can’t say for sure.

Tomorrow is convocation so office phone coverage may be sporadic.

Can’t say beyond that appologies.

Singles w private bathrooms exist. SEAS (disability services) will consider housing requests for students who are registered w their office and have documented their disability. For instance, my kid has a food allergy which can be accommodated somewhat at one dining hall. So, after registering w SEAS, and requesting housing near that dining hall. my kid now has access to food options near the dorm. I suggest contacting SEAS office before ResLife, mostly b/c ResLife is shockingly understaffed and most likely will not be able to be reached.

Most dorms have at least one communal bathroom along with one or two private bathrooms on each floor, so all students can have privacy if they desire. If someone needs a different situation, they can contact ResLife and make them aware of their needs. From what I have seen for many years, they are very willing to accommodate students - just make sure it’s early on in the housing process and not after housing has been assigned.

Caswell Hall has rooms with private bathroom.

Watch the first minute of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yf7BKC79V48 and you will see the private bathroom.

Mouse over https://reslife.brown.edu/residence_halls/map.html and you will see several dorms have rooms with private bathroom. (very stupid map, you have to close the description window yourself)

If you are curious about WaterFire Providence®, watch from 33th minutes.

Those two girls in the video are PLME. They also have a video about PLME.
