Private college suggestions?

I Live in southern California, I'm Hispanic
GPA: 3.1-3.2 around there
SAT:1560 (one sitting) 1630 (from different sittings, I know most privates look at SATs this way)
ECs: average ones, not very many.
So far I'm applying to:
UC Irvine
UC Davis
UC Santa Cruz
UC Santa Barbara
Seattle University
Loyola Marymount University (LA)

and I was wondering if these are the schools that are worth applying to (for my grades)
I know most of the UCs are reaches, but my school encourages all "college bound" kids to apply to them and four are free for me. (I have a low gpa, but im in a bunch of AP/honors courses) I am Really interested in Seattle University.

I also need suggestions of two more private schools that I have a pretty good chance of getting in to.... Preferably on the west coast, maybe the east coast.

Also check into Seton Hall (NJ), St. Johns (NY) and Sacred Heart (CT). Best of luck!

Can your family afford to pay for a private U (up to $50K/yr)?

You could always try Evergreen State. Wonderful up-and-coming school.

Also think about the SUNY’s and small LAC’s that need diversity. For instance, Adrian, Alma, Wittenberg, Ohio Wesleyan, Colorado College, Cornell College, and Alfred would all probably accept you with a nice scholarship package.

im applying for financial aid, but money isn’t a big concern…

any other suggestions??
and thanks for the suggestions made so far

I’m sorry? You’re applying for FA but money isn’t a big concern? How do you feel about paying a thousand dollars per month or more for 10 years? Do your parents know that private schools cost $35K per year of more? Talk to your parents before you start making comments like that.

well i don’t live with my dad, but he is going to pay for college
my grandparents are my guardians and i live with them, and what sucks is they can’t give me a dollar for college, but my dad is very supportive when it comes to my education and hes wealthy too.

sorry if i made you upset…

No, Erin’s Dad is right. Have you actually had a conversation with your father about the cost of attendance at those schools? Has he actually said he’s willing to pay up to $52,000 per year? Because that’s what it costs to attend Loyola Marymount. The others aren’t much cheaper, and remember the UCs just announced a big tuition increase over the next couple of years.

yes…my dad told me , i didn’t even ask…he really wants me to go to a UC, but i doubt ill get accepted…i just want suggestions, you don’t need to know all my business.
(ever since I was little he put money away for my college education (so he’s told me all my life), I’ve been his only child until last year)

We don’t need to know your business, but the cost of college is pretty shocking, and it’s something that has to be taken into account when making your list, that’s all.

Azusa Pacific University, University of San Francisco, University of Redlands - all in CA

You said you have money, and those privates should be in your stats range.

Take off Irvine, Davis, and SB. Those are too far of reaches considering your stats. But if you still want a financial safety, it’s gotta be one you can get in. There’s the Cal States- Chico, Humboldt, and more. Or replace them with some out of state publics with reduced tuition: [WICHE - Student Exchange Programs](http://wue.wiche.edu/)

Good luck!!!
