Is this any good for next year applicant?
Can you clarify what your question is?
Do you mean that the school contacted you and offered you a private tour? I guess that would be a good sign.
If you visited a school and got a private tour, it could mean that you were the only one visiting at that day and time, or maybe the school just prides itself on personal attention. If this is what you mean, then I wouldn’t read anything into it unless there was a big group tour at the same time, and you were obviously separated from it.
this
. After few email exchanges super reachy reach school has offered a meeting with dean of admissions and offered a private tour.
At my kids’ school, they offered private tour to special applicants and that could be top donor’s kids, athletes, etc. Aside from getting a private tour, the key was to be included in the “special folder” for the adcoms.
So far three colleges have offered this, I am not sure what it meant. College adcoms congratulated daughter for her work.
@oldfort what is special folder mean as I have no clue where she is or she is not.
I would ask them what’s their admission process. Would your daughter get certain priority based on her high achievement?
Yes I would. thanks
Yes, it means they are interested, and she likely fits a need they have. But, a very reachy of the reachiest school did the same for my D, with an asst dean of admissions giving her an interview locally, an invitation to visit, a call after stating they would like to see her application SCEA. She wasn’t accepted… I think they are looking to fill a certain kind of spot in the class, but they also probably have hunted several candidates that might fit. When you are talking about colleges with acceptance rates under 5%, you just can’t count on much until you get an official acceptance.
@divarose thanks for the info. Daughter will apply with eyes wide open and see what happens.
