30 minutes for a bus ride is very reasonable. Find a place as near to campus as you can but be flexible and reasonable. Even if you find and must live in a less than desirable place you can find a more suitable place later on. We’ve all been there at one time or another. This is just part of life. You have been given several options, good luck and let us know the results.

BTW- it can take 30 minutes to go a few miles in downtown LA by bus. D has used it to get around to various places within 5-10 miles of USC and it always takes at least 30 minutes or more. You will have to be much more flexible with time if money is the major concern.

Someone has posted a thread looking for roommates on this forum, you might want to reply.

@CatalinaIslander - what’s your budget? Lorenzo doesn’t seem to care who occupies the beds so that’s an option and it has a shuttle to school and is literally next to a metro stop. Same with several other apartment complexes.

Do you want a house? Apartment? Is your budget low or is it flexible?

One option is to look for possible sublets (for instance someone doing a year abroad, etc.)
.

@CatalinaIslander I don’t think the M/F thing is an issue at all outside of campus housing. Apartment managers don’t care. Everything else depends on your budget.

Hello!
Looking for a roommate ASAP!
Don’t have a lease yet but would be interested in signing a new one/signing on to an existing one.
I really don’t mind what kind of person your are/ what your major is/ any of that
As long as you help keep the place clean and are just as desperate to find housing as I am!

There is someone on the USC Parents Group on Facebook looking for roommates, you might check that out.
